A client share, also known as the “Oumla Share,” is a key component of Oumla’s hybrid key management model for enhanced blockchain security.

How It Works

When you register with Oumla, a cryptographic key is generated and split into three parts:
  • Your Client Share - You maintain control
  • Oumla’s Share - Securely stored by Oumla
  • Third-Party Share - Held by a trusted third party
This approach significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access by ensuring no single entity has complete control over the keys.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll receive your client share as a PDF document, which you must:
  • Securely store in an encrypted location
  • Use for operations like generating new addresses and signing transactions
  • Integrate into your own system or use directly in the Oumla dashboard
